Lions Through to Lakoseljac Cup Final After Penalty Shootout Epic
In front of a fantastic crowd at the Den, Kingborough Lions United secured a place in the 2026 Lakoseljac Cup Final in a game for the ages.
In the deluge of the evening, South Hobart FC levelled the scores 9 minutes into extra time, forcing the game to extra time.
Against one of Tasmania’s benchmark clubs, in one of the biggest matches of the season, the Lions refused to be intimidated and secured the match after extra time, with a 4-3 victory in the penalty shootout.
The result sends the Lions into the Lakoseljac Cup Final and keeps alive the club’s dream of qualifying for the Australia Cup Round of 32.
