Extension Programs & Clinics
Supporting Development Beyond Team Football
Kingborough Lions United FC offers a range of optional extension programs and clinics designed to support player development beyond regular team training.
These programs provide additional opportunities for learning, skill development, and enjoyment for players who want to do more, while remaining fully connected to their team environment.
Extension programs are optional and complement the club’s core football programs.
Discovery Program (U5-U8)
The Discovery Program is an introduction to football fundamentals for younger players. It focuses on:
- Fun, movement, and confidence
- Ball familiarity and basic skills
- Learning through games and play
- Building a love for football
The Discovery Program is ideal for:
- New and developing junior players
- Children who enjoy extra activity in a relaxed environment
Participation is optional and does not affect team placement.
Skills Acquisition Program (SAP (U9-12)
The Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) provides additional technical development opportunities for junior players in their golden years of development..
SAP focuses on:
- Core football skills such as first touch, passing, and striking
- Ball mastery and coordination
- Decision-making through game-based activities
- Age-appropriate skill development
SAP is suited to:
- Players seeking extra technical development
- Players who enjoy additional structured training
Places may be limited, and participation involves additional fees.
Holiday Clinics
Holiday clinics are offered during school holidays and are open to players across a range of ages. We offer clinics for Juniors, Youth and specialist clinics for Goal Keepers and Outfield Master-Class.
Clinics focus on:
- Skill development
- Game play and enjoyment
- Position-specific activities
- Social football experiences
Holiday clinics are open to both club and non-club players and are a great way to stay active during the off-season.
Youth Extension Program (U13-U18)
The Youth Extension Program provides additional development opportunities for youth players who are motivated to further challenge themselves.
The program focuses on:
- Technical execution under pressure
- Tactical understanding and game awareness
- Physical preparation appropriate to age and stage
- Preparation for higher-performance environments
Participation may involve selection and is designed to complement team and pathway football.
